The Divine gives each one of us specific gifts and the way we say thank you, is by using them.

Drawing a line within a relationship does not mean that you do not love the other person, it just means that you also love yourself.

The only sin I have ever committed, was to believe those thoughts that have caused me deep suffering. It was because of that belief that I was left disconnected to you, and in turn caused you to suffer. As I walk past the guilt caused by my own ignorance, I am greeted by unconditional love. Freedom becomes the gift when we own who we are in this world. Our gift to ourselves and to others, is our commitment to heal those areas where we cause their suffering and our own.

It is through our intimacy with another person that we have the choice whether or not we will experience a truly spiritual relationship. At this level, the only goal is to support the other person as they make their way back home. No strings attached. Outcomes freed. Wounds removed. When I love you as you should be loved, I become one with God, and it is through loving you that I learn to love myself.

This morning I was lying in the bathtub, connecting with the Divine in quiet and relaxation. I was thinking about, who do I want to be in this world, when I looked up at the window and saw the reflection of the sun on the window pane. Although I couldn’t see the sun directly, because the window was too small and therefore the sun was blocked, I was still able to see its beauty as it was reflected off of the wood and this filled me with a sense of peace. It also gave me a clue as to what the Divine is asking me to do. It was if he was telling me that when I find others who are unable to see his light directly, because it is blocked by pain or sorrow, I am to be a reflection of God, to help them to remember that they are loved.

One of the hardest things that I have had to do in my life is to look at myself directly in the mirror. By not hiding, I have been able to see with greater clarity those areas where I am not living up to my Divine potential.
I have been craving time out in my daily life for the practise of meditation, and boy or boy have I learnt a lot about myself as a result of this. The biggest lesson that I have learnt is that you can not hide from yourself, if you spend time going inward in quiet reflection. I think many of us, for I know that I have, spend a lot of our time just trying keep our minds and bodies busy in the hopes of keeping ourselves distracted. The payoff is that we are then living life disconnected to ourselves and the Divine.
What are we afraid of, what was I afraid of? Maybe having a deep relationship with the Divine calls for a level of intimacy and vulnerability that many of us are completely uncomfortable with. One needs to have a level of faith in the realization that the Divine never leaves the relationship that the Divine has with each one of us. I know that this may sound obvious to many but for me to know this at a deep level, the level that reaches beyond the mind and that takes root in the heart, has required a deeper healing and a deeper understanding of the intentions of God. Once I realized that the intent behind all that is the Divine is to bring me closer to knowing and seeing the Divine in myself and others, my fear of trusting God with my life seems to have lost some of its grip, and this I am thankful for.
