It is through our intimacy with another person that we have the choice whether or not we will experience a truly spiritual relationship. At this level, the only goal is to support the other person as they make their way back home. No strings attached. Outcomes freed. Wounds removed. When I love you as you should be loved, I become one with God, and it is through loving you that I learn to love myself.

During this past week, I had one hell of a bad day. Physically and emotionally I was spent, but the hope that tomorrow might bring a better day pulled me through. If there is one thing that I have learnt, no matter how bad a day, a week, a month or even a year might seem, nothing ever stays the same. And that is good news.

Yesterday my ten-year old son said to me, “Mom, imagine what the world would be like if there were no wars.” Even if he has never felt the effects of war directly, intuitively he knows that the world would be a better place without its existence. I have never tried to hide the fact that many children have or are suffering needlessly on a daily basis because of war. Here is a song to help us all imagine the possibility of such a world without war. 

As my fingers brush against yours in the moment before I take a hold of your hand, I am reminded that our souls are always connected. And I reach out my hand to you, so in this moment, you too will remember.

In order to live in peace with others, you must live in peace with yourself. You must learn to accept not only those parts of your being that exude love into this world, but you must also take responsibility for those parts of yourself you consider ugly. 

Rise above the energy that creates fear in this world and change it into the energy of love. How you treat yourself, is how you will treat others. Figure out how to love yourself, and you will spread the energy of peace to every human being that you come into contact with. That is love.

At our deepest level we are so connected, that to see where you start and I end would be impossible. We are entangled like the roots of forest trees. On the surface these trees stand stoic, but underneath  their roots are beautifully intertwined creating a masterpiece of life. When I look into your eyes, I search to see those roots and in doing so I see myself, and my deep connection to you.
