Nourishing The Soul
Lately I have been searching for blogs that I can feel connected too. It always feels good to be in a community of like-minded people, whether in real life or in cyberspace, and this is what has motivated me to search for like-minded blogs.
I found a wonderful site called Nourishing The Soul that is full of inspirational and educational information. The author, Ashley, is a therapist who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, body image, trauma, and serious mental illness.
Ashley describes what motivated her to start a blog perfectly and I thought you would like to read it in her own words.
“I am a former journalism major who secretly longs to write all day, I decided that the this could be a valuable outlet for my desire to share information. And as someone who cares deeply about the well-being of others, and particularly about how we treat our bodies and minds, I decided that this could, hopefully, be a source of knowledge and inspiration to others.
My goal is to write about the struggles we have with eating and appreciating our bodies as beautiful, the directions that the fields of eating disorders advocacy and research is taking, and thoughts about recovery and self-improvement. I hope that this blog is taken as a source of information, but also a source of hope.”
I feel that her blog does exactly what Ashley hopes that it does. It is a wonderful source of information but it is also very real and hopeful when discussing a struggle that most women have felt at one time or another in their life. I hope that you enjoy reading www.nourishing-the-soul.com as much as I do.
